When creating this pattern Debbie Bliss stated that she was inspired by the beautiful dresses worn by Spanish children. Here at the garage we are inspired by the thoughts of spring time coming and how utterly adorable this would be! The top of this dress is knitted with a lovely cable and seed stitch design and then a simple cotton skirt is attached. With a fresh stock of sunny and bright colors of Baby Cashmerino you cant go wrong, and a small selection of fabrics you can choose from as well. We are currently working on a sample for the store so keep an eye out when you pop in next.
With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season fading away we welcome new adventures and chalenges! We want to inspire you to try something new weather it be a new technique, type of yarn, shawl or mittens. Here is our list of classes for January and Febuary. Today I picked up some lovely paperwhite bulbs form my local greenhouse. I have never my self forced bulbs indoors and I have been wanting to try it for sometime. So first I needed to find something to grow them in. I wanted them to be grouped together for a nice dramatic look on my holiday table. I choose a old tin baking pan and filled it 3/4 the way with soil. Then placed the bulbs in and topped them off with a bit more soil. I still need to add a bit of moss or something else, Not sure what it will be.
Those are the only words that can describe Plumes, U-Knitted Nations newest yarn. Consisting of hand dyed 100% wool and HAND FELTED FEATHERS! Yes that's right each fabulous plume is and felted to the strand making each skein a work of art. I wiped up this cowl actually while watching the new Muppet movie with my boys, So I can assure you this is a simple quick knit. Great for last minute holiday gifts or just need an attention grabbing accessory. Also if you can find this in your LYS give me a shout and I'm happy to ship!

When I unpacked the box from Pagewood Farm and beheld the skein of Giant Purls I was smitten. Then I needed to create something instantly with this work of awesomeness. That's when this cowl was born! All you need is one skein of Manos Del Uruguay Wool Classic and one skein of the Giant Purls and a 10.5" needle and a few hours and your ready to go! Feel free to play around and use different yarns or shorten the cowl by casting on less stitches.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
